Folding Bamboo Room Divider with Solid Pine Frame

The frame is what decides whether a screen still stands straight in year three. Ours is solid pine.

Our weaving workshop has specialized in woven products for over 30 years. This bamboo screen pairs a hand-woven bamboo infill with a solid pine frame, joined at the corners rather than stapled. The corners are where a folding screen fails first, so that is where we put the material.

Three panel sizes are stocked: 180×50, 200×50 and 170×40 cm. The pine takes a stain well, so a buyer who wants a darker frame does not have to change the whole product.

Can I order a different number of panels?

Four panels is the standard set, and the one we hold frame components for. We also build 2, 3, 5 and 6 panel versions. Panel count is independent of panel size, so a 2-panel 200 cm screen is as straightforward as a 6-panel 180 cm one. Custom counts carry the same 50 piece minimum per configuration.

Why pine rather than a wrapped core?

A wrapped core is cheaper and lighter, but the corners crush after a season of folding. Pine costs more and survives the movement. For a product a customer folds every day, that difference shows up fast.

Can the frame colour differ from the bamboo?

Yes. A darker frame with natural bamboo is a common request and needs no extra tooling, only a sample round to confirm the shade.

What is the packed size?

Panels ship folded and wrapped. Exact carton dimensions depend on the panel size and count, and we send them with the quote.
